Duryodhan a master of solo battle's.

Intro - people always try to lie and pro tray this character as being primarily a mace fighter and ignore how this warrior mostly fought with a bow in his hands and letting arrows loose from his bow.
I can prove that if divine weapons and astras are not a factor then this Duryodhan guy was a better archer than Laxman, Parshurama, Karna etc.
My belief is that Duryodhan was always at his best when he was using archery not maces or club's/bludgeons. And it is a very serious claim.
How Suyodhan did against Bheem.
1st time.
[quote]
"Aiming a terrible shaft blazing as Death's rod, the Kuru king, excited with rage struck Bhimasena between his two breasts. Deeply pierced therewith, and greatly pained, he sat down on the terrace of his car. And while seated on the terrace of his car, he swooned away. Beholding Bhima thus unmanned, the illustrious and mighty car-warriors of the Pandava army, headed by Abhimanyu could not bear it. And those warriors then, with great steadiness, showered on thy sons' head a thick down-pour of fierce shafts. Then the mighty Bhimasena, regaining consciousness, pierced Duryodhana."
[End]
Note - the kuru king here is clearly Suyodhan (aka "Duryodhana")

2nd time.
[Quote]
"king Duryodhana then excited with wrath, rushed towards Bhimasena, that chastiser of foes. Taking up a large bow he covered the son of Pandu with a thick shower of arrows. And filled with rage, and aiming a sharp crescent-shaped shaft winged with feathers, he cut off Bhimasena's bow."
"That mighty chariot warrior, noticing an opportunity, quickly aimed at his adversary a whetted shaft capable of riving the very hills. He struck Bhimasena in the chest. Deeply pierced with that arrow, and exceedingly pained, and licking the corners of his mouth, Bhimasena of great energy caught hold of his flag-staff decked with gold."
"Beholding Bhimasena in that cheerless state, Ghatotkacha blazed up with wrath like an all-consuming conflagration. Then many mighty car-warriors of the Pandava army, headed by Abhimanyu and with wrath generated (in their bosoms), rushed at the king shouting loudly.
[End]
3rd time.
[Quote]
"Duryodhana then, O sire, excited with wrath, cut off Bhimasena's bow with a razor-faced arrow and pierced Bhima himself with ten shafts in return. Then the mighty Bhimasena, taking up another bow, quickly pierced the king with seven keen shafts. Displaying great lightness of hand, Duryodhana cut off even that bow of Bhima. The second, the third, the fourth, and the fifth, bow that Bhima took up were similarly cut off. Indeed, O king, thy son, proud of his prowess and desirous of victory, cut off Bhima's bow as soon as the latter took up one. Seeing his bows repeatedly cut off, Bhima then hurled, in that battle, a dart made wholly of iron and hard as the thunder. That dart blazing as a flame of fire, resembled the sister of Death. The Kuru king, however, in the very sight of all the warriors and before the eyes of Bhima himself, cut in three fragments that dart, which coursed towards him through the welkin with the splendour of fire and dividing it, as it were by a straight line such as is visible on the head of a woman parting her tresses."
[enD]
Note: after this bheem used a mace to beat duryodhan off but in arrows its clear who was better. So as a archer Suyodhan is superior to Bhima.
========
Bheem's archery feats against Karna.
Day 15:
"Then Bhima, mad with rage, sped eight shafts at Karna, and his standard and bow, and leathern fence, O Bharata. The mighty Bhimasena, that slayer of hostile heroes, with the greatest care, O Bharata, cut off, with those keen shafts, the standards, the bow, and the leathern fence of Karna."

Day 17:
"His eyes red with rage and the desire of revenge, the son of Pandu, insensate with wrath, and impelled by the desire of slaying the Suta's son, fixed on his bow an excellent shaft of great impetuosity, capable of bearing a great strain."
"Forcibly drawing the bow-string to his very ear, the son of the Wind-god, that great bowman, filled with wrath and desirous of making an end of Karna, sped that shaft. Thus sped by the mighty Bhima, that shaft, making a noise loud as that of the thunder, pierced through Karna in that battle, like the Vajra itself piercing through a mountain."
"Struck by Bhimasena, O perpetuator of Kuru's race, the Suta's son, that commander (of thy forces), sat down senseless on the terrace of his car. The ruler of the Madras then, beholding the Suta's son deprived of his senses, bore that ornament of battle away on his car, from that fight."

Dhritrashtra's question.
{quote}
"Beholding, however, that son of Radha now defeated by Bhima in battle, what did my son Duryodhana next do?"
{end}
Note - whether their was a useless vijay bow (of weak warriors like parshurama) or not in karna's hand (since his fans say he didnt use it before the Bhargava Astra incident) does not matter. Because Bheem never used his divine bow (vayavya dhanush) in this conflict.

Point is Karna had parshuram's chariot and a good bow, he was a son of surya and clearly lost this duel. When did Suyodhanji ever get knocked out unconscious by a arrow of Bheem?

Also understand that i have chosen to exclude the 14th day where karna got completely dominated and trounced like abhinandan did by pakistanis.
====
Duryodhan vs Nakula.
Day 15
{Quote}
"Duryodhana, however, afflicting Nakula with showers of shafts and resisting him on every side, caused him to turn back."
{End}
Day 17
{quOte}
"With a couple of broad-headed arrows, then, he cut off the bows of both those warriors; and then he suddenly pierced each of the twins with three and seventy arrows. Taking up then two other beautiful and foremost of bows, those two brothers, poured upon their cousin, ceaseless showers of terrible shafts like two masses of clouds, pouring rain upon a mountain. Thereupon thy son, that great car-warrior, O king filled with rage, resisted those two great bowmen."
{eNd}
{Quote}
"Beholding on the other hand, the prowess of thy son, the great car-warriors all regarded the twin sons of Madri to be in the presence of Death. The commander of the Pandava army, the mighty car-warrior Dhrishtadyumn proceeded to that spot where Duryodhana was."
{End}
======
The Yudhisthir matter.
Basically - though Duryodhan always got beaten once he met king Yudhisthir in wars their is also one fact which is that Duryodhan actually put up a fight before being defeated by him.
Day 16.
{Quote}
"Then king Duryodhana, in that encounter, O sire, with a broad-headed arrow whetted on stone, cut in twain the bow of the virtuous monarch. Filled with rage, Yudhishthira could not brook that insult. Casting aside his broken bow, with eyes red in wrath, Dharma's son took up another bow at the head of his forces."
{End}
Logic; Here Suyodhan cut one bow that Yudhisthir held.
Yudhishthir's achievements in war.
He was able to counter a group attack of namard Karn.
{quote}
"Yudhishthira, however, once more pierced Karna with thirty arrows. And he struck Sushena and Satyasena, each with three arrows. And he pierced everyone of the protectors of Karna with three straight arrows."
{end}

Inconclusive duel between Susharma and Yudhishthir;
"And having slain such numbers, that fierce and mighty warrior, Yudhishthira, with weapons upraised, rushed against Susarman. And rushing impetuously at Susarman, that foremost of car-warriors, king Yudhishthira, assailed him with vollies of shafts. And Susarman also, in great rage, quickly pierced Yudhishthira with nine arrows, and each of his four steeds with four arrows."
[End]
Duryodhan told Susharma to save bhishma's life;
[Quote]
Suyodhan, beholding the prowess of Partha in battle, quickly proceeded towards those kings, and addressing them as also the heroic and mighty Susarman stationed in their van "Exerting your best, ye all, united together, and accompanied by your troops, protect in battle the grandsire, of Bharata's race, who is proceeding against the hostile army."
[End]
====
Karna vs Duryodhan.
Note; ironically even the eldest beta of Pritha (kunti) is not much of a match for Suyodhana.
Karna fails to kill a ordinary elephant.
[Quote]
"There, O Bharata, elephants, assailed with arrows by Karna, fled away on all sides in fear and caused a great agitation on the field of battle."
[End]
Logic - if any elephant was dead how did they use their feet for fleeing the battlefield? They were clearly alive because karna's arrows were not fierce or strong.
==
Duryodhan had a feat against arjun.
1st (virat war).
"And cut by that arrow, the warm life-blood gushed out profusely from the wound. And the blood trickling down his body shone beautifully like a wreath of golden flowers. And struck by Duryodhana with the shaft, the swift-handed Arjuna of unfailing strength, swelling with rage, pierced the king in return, taking up arrows that were endued with the energy of snakes of virulent poison."
Logic - he injured a vulnerable part of arjun's body. A achievement that Karna's father Surya & brother Yamraj failed to do in Khandava-Daha.
About Krishna, the fact is Krishna was busy fighting with a real man like Indra at that time so he couldnt aid Arjuna against those 2 eunuch's (surya & yamaraj).

Duryodhan certainly was a better archer than Kripacharya, Parshuram, Laxman etc.
==
Suyodhan's flaw;
He had a weakness toward's celestial weaponry.
Even Nakul's younger brother defeated him due to it once.
{quote}
"The high-souled Sahadeva, however, quickly approaching their and invoking without loss of time a celestial weapon, pierced Duryodhana with twenty arrows. Thus pierced by Sahadeva, the Kuru king, covered with blood, looked beautiful, like a huge elephant of split temples. Beholding thy son deeply pierced with many arrows of great energy, that foremost of car-warriors, the son of Radha, filled with rage, rushed to that spot."
{end}
No retaliation from Duryodhana was mentioned here.
Therefore this incident is certainly a black mark on his career as a warrior.
=========
ANOTHER INTERESTING FACT.
The power of his arrows could split the mountain peak which Lord Hanutati was lifting in Ramayan.

Proof:
"The force of the heroic Duryodhana's shafts .... would break down the very mountains."

What did Lord Hanutati bring from the mountain region?
{Quote}
"Taking that mountain-peak, which looked like a dark rainy cloud, that Hanuman jumped up into the sky."
{End}
Comment:
It's not even the full mountain so just a mere peak which is on the top, that tiny peak can easily be torn apart by Duryodhans arrow.
===
NOTABLE FACTS ABOUT SUYODHAN THE ARCHER.
1ST FACT: Although prince Nakula was already defeated and injured on the 15th day by king suyodhan immediately in the next day (16TH DAY) he had a big fight with karna and was able to cut two bows from that gandu karna's hand. But he failed to ever cut a bow that Suyodhan held in his hands.šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜ŽšŸ˜Ž this proves that (duryodhan is SSJ2 level, Nakul & Karna are both SSJ1 level).

2ND FACT: Bheem on the 14th night (before getting extremely hurt) was dominated by Suyodhan in a arrow encounter. However on the 15th day he succeeded in cutting a bow of Karna despite already being injured by other warriors (like guru Drona, Alayudha, Suyodhan etc). A fresh bheem is pushed back by Duryodhan, while a tired wounded bheem is able to overpower Karna.

3RD FACT: Duryodhan swooned Bheem with arrows knocking the man out, something that not even Bhishma, Karna etc were able to do in arrow fight's with Bheem.

4TH FACT: Karna failed to slay any elephant on day's 16 and 17 but Suyodhan killed a elephant with arrows pretty much every day of the war.

5th FACT; Suyodhana took part in combat for days one till eighteen even on the 14th night. He participated longer than chutiya bhishma.
6th FACT; Mahabali Suyodhan very rarely got knocked out by arrows in a battle compared to lundchoosers like Karna.

7th FACT: Duryodhan was able to perform well by using normal arrows, he did not need to rely on divine astras and nuclear missile type weaponry like gandu Parshurama & chutiya Laxman of Ramayan.

8th FACT: Duryodhan is well respected as a archer by Ashwathama, even Krishna said his arrow could break a mountain.

9th FACT; Suyodhan respected his wife/wive's and never traded them with infantrymen of the enemy's army but Karna disrespected all his wives and offered to trade them with foot soldier's in the pandav army on day 17.
======
END"S.
Morals of this post, do not present a archer as a mace fighter. This Duryodhan being a pupil of Balram is not as impressive as Arjun being the disciple of Yamadev (who was immortal). Also Yama respected women unlike gandu Balramji.
Also "amit pachori" was a better actor (for "duryodhan's" role) than Puneet Issar. My only reason for giving Puneet any respect is because he put amitabh bachchan in a hospital.

Conclusion - duryodhan was superior to Balram, Laxman, Parshurama, Hanuman, Karna, Bhishma, Nakul and Suryadev.

Chandragupt Maurya took away the kingdoms of all hindus in northern india, but Duryodhan only took away the kingdom of one hindu family (the Pandava's) by using dice as a item.

Underrated actors who protraid Suyodhana on TV;
1 - "Aryan Vaid" (in Ekta's Mahabharat).
2 - NT Rama Rao (in a south indian movie).
3 - Amit Pachori (in dwarakdeesh sri krishn).
4 - Georges Corraface (in peter brooks play).
5 - Arpit Ranka (in Starplus, he kind of saved the tvbharat from being totally boring).
6 - Shaleen Bhanot (though this guy was overrated he was good to watch at certain times in Sony TV).
7 - Om Puri (in Bharat Ek Khoj, the fifth and sixth episode's were centered on Mahabharat).
8 - Deepak Jethi (in sahara's Draupadi television show).
Unfortunately people only focus on Puneet Issar.

Useless warrior (Bālārāmā).

Intro - in the year of 2018 i made a grave error and mistake by giving respect & praise to a lund chooser named "Balaram" he is a character present in Mahabharat. I was foolish, ignorant and a buffoon to my own admission as i praised a guy that does not deserve to be praised. I will link the post first below, after the link is complete i will then go on to write this amazing new post.
Now - but an important thing is to learn from your mistakes. I am tired of people braying like namard's saying that "balaram would crush arjun, duryodhan etc" i believe their opinion is wrong and i will prove it now.
My sources will be not limited to only Mahabharat, i will make use of other text's, i have read mahabharat completely but my reading of Bhagavatam, Purans and other sources is inconsistent and incomplete thus this's going to be a extremely challenging post.
===
Balaram was defeated multiple time's.

1}
Jarasandha beat balram.
Quote;
"Jarāsandha struck Rāma with a club like a thunderbolt. Rāma vomited blood from the blow with the club and a great cry, “Ha! Ha!” arose in all the army of the Yadus. The youngest Kaunteya, (Śvetavāhana), jumped between and fought Jarāsandha who wished to attack Rāma. Krṣṇa saw Rāma’s wretched state and, angered, his lips trembling."
[End]
Logic - arjun saved this chutiya balram against the brave lord of Magadh.
2} He pissed his pants and fled seeing more armies of Magadh Raj.
Quote:
"Seeing the fierce waves of the enemy’s army, the two Mādhavas, imitating human behavior, ran swiftly away."
{End.}

3} Balram was tired after running half a marathon.
[Quote]
"Apparently exhausted after fleeing a long distance, the two Lords climbed a high mountain named Pravarį¹£aṇa, upon which Lord Indra showers incessant rain."
[End]
Comment; even elementary schoolers nowadays (2019 to 2022) have the ability to run a mile in less than 9 minutes without being exhausted. Namard Balram failed to surpass elementary level stamina.
4} Dueling with Jarasandha.
[Quote]
"Those two foremost of warriors fought with each other for some time on equal terms. And none of them left the battle-field. Thereupon witnessing Jarasandha’s efficiency in club-fighting the powerful Rama left off his club in anger and took up his mace."
[End]
Logic- Balram out of frustration had to change weapon's to fight Jarasandha correctly.
5} Balram's lack of ability as a mace fighter.
Quote:
"In this manner, the powerful fighters fought the battle using a variety of strange techniques. Fighting for a long time, they became exhausted. They stopped and relaxed for a while. Again they struck against each other. In this way the great fighters fought for a long time. No one was ready to retire from the fight accepting defeat. Realising that jarAsaMdha was skilled in mace fight, valiant balarAma became angry. He abandoned the mace and picked up his best club."
[End]
6} Previous loss of Balram to king Jarasandh.
Quote:
"Powerful jarAsaMdha broke the bow of rAma (balarAma) who was shooting iron arrows to kill chitrasena. The angry lord of magadha (jarAsaMdha) killed the horses with a mace. The powerful jarAsaMdha turned his attention to balarAma."
{End}
Logic - This was no group attack (as though Balrams attention had been diverted towards Chitrasen their was not a 2nd person attacking him as Chitrasen could not resist Balram properly so he wasnt fighting chitrasen anymore).

After one bow is cut then Balram gives up on archery and opts for something else. Jarasandha even skilled Balram's horses in close quarters with a mace, so why didnt Balram reply with a deadly arrow in close range? A maharathi had multiple bows in one chariot. Balram should have taken another one up.
This tells me after he shot a arrow at Balrams bow then Jarasandha saw how his enemys bow got torn so he himself decided to switch gear to mace warfare. Jarasandha disarmed himself to give Balram a fair chance in war.
Still Balram's ability with the mace became useless (like his skill in the bow) as he could not protect the innocent animals that pulled his chariot. Imagine if Jarasandha kept firing arrows instead of being lenient on Balram & holding back by using close combat oriented weapons?
===
Debunking the victories of Balaram.
1) Hansa's vadh.
Hansa was inferior to Jarasandh:
[quote]
"There are two others, Hansa and Dimvaka, of great energy and great soul, who have sought the shelter of the mighty Jarasandha."
[end]
How he really died:
[quote]
"Afterwards when Hansa, the subjugator of hostile heroes, heard that Dimvaka, had killed himself, he went to the Yamuna and jumped into its waters."
[end]
Basically - it wasn't balrams power. After the warrior hansa found out his comrade/friend committed suicide then Hansa choose to do the same thing. That is not Balram's victory through use of force or physical might/ability.

2) Balram vs Pralamv.

As per Krishna this balram guy slew a character named Pralamv:
[Quote]
"Do not give way to wrath, O slayer of Pralamva!"
[End]
Quote:
"Baladeva, the slayer of Pralamva, possessed of great wisdom, then proceeded to Agnitirtha."

Yet here in Bhagwatam sri Krishna mentioned to mucukunda that he did it instead:
"I have killed Kālanemi, reborn as Kaṁsa, as well as Pralamba and other enemies of the pious. And now, O King, this barbarian has been burnt to ashes by your piercing glance."
Logic - he never claimed to be the slayer of Kalayavana he admitted that it was done by Mucukunda instead. So he would not claim he slew a person that he didn't in actuality, logically Pralamva also ended up slain at Krishna's hand not lund choosing bhaiya Balram.

3) Balram's win against Balvala.
{quoTe}
"With the tip of His plow Lord Balarāma caught hold of the demon Balvala as he flew through the sky, and with His club the Lord angrily struck that harasser of brāhmaṇas on the head. Balvala cried out in agony and fell to the ground, his forehead cracked open and gushing blood. He resembled a red mountain struck by a lightning bolt."
"The exalted sages honored Lord Rāma with sincere prayers and awarded Him infallible blessings. Then they performed His ritual bath, just as the demigods had formally bathed Indra when he killed Vį¹›tra. They gave Lord Balarāma a VaijayantÄ« garland of unfading lotuses in which resided the goddess of fortune, and they also gave Him a set of divine garments and jewelry."
{end}
My opinion is that it's not a impressive win as Balvala could not even fight back. He was one shotted like how amitabh was one shotted by Punit Issar in the shooting of "Coolie" (1983) and Tesla (fraccion in Bleach) was one shotted by Zaraki Kenpachi. Defeating some one who is so below u will not be considered a big achievement.
4)
"Kumbhāį¹‡įøa and KÅ«pakarṇa, tormented by Lord Balarāma’s club, fell down dead."
Comment: ok he defeated and slew them, but these two were nobodies at end of the day, they were not famous in the world, they had zero achievements. Balram had more victories than Laxman but the qaulity of the victory is not high.

5th) Kamsa's wrestler from Andhra state;
"The strong sa~NkarShaNa fought for a long time. The great andhra wrestler exhibited many types of wrestling. With one strike of his powerful fist, suddenly, the valiant balarAma struck him on his head, like a mountain is struck with the weapon vajra. His head cracked and the brain came out on the ground. The eyes came out as he fell down with a loud sound."
"After killing the wrestlers, andhra and toshalaka, kR^iShNa and sa~NkarShaNa leaped in the centre of the arena with their eyes, red with anger. With the great wrestler, andhra and muShTika felled, devoid of the wrestlers, the arena appeared desolate."
[End quote]
Logic - that wrestler actually fought back, its stated that he exhibited different moves of that wrestling combat art/form. So it was not even easy for Balram, he did not one shot the opponent he faced.
Another thing to think about is that "Andhra wrestler" did not ever encounter Keechak, Jarasandh, Duryodhan, Shalya, Bheem etc. So we cant even use Balrams fight with this guy as evidence to place him above Bheem and other warrior's.
====
Quotes that prove Balram is inferior to other warrior's of Mahabharat.

1) Suyodhan.
First.
Quote:
"There is none on earth equal to me in an encounter with the mace. None have ever surpassed me in such an encounter, nor will any surpass me. With devoted application and undergoing many privations, I have lived in my preceptor's abode. I have completed my knowledge and exercises there. It is for this that I have no fear either of Bhima or of others. When I humbly waited upon Sankarshana (my preceptor), blessed be thou, it was his firm conviction that Duryodhana hath no equal in the mace. In battle I am Sankarshana's equal, and in might there is none superior to me on earth. Bhima will never be able to bear the blow of my mace in battle."
{End}

Second.
[Quote]
"People also said that in encounters with the mace you, a disciple of Sankarshana, wert like the Lord of treasures (Kuvera), himself! How then, O sinless one, could Bhima notice any lapses in thee! Thou wert ever mighty and possessed of skill!"
[End]

Third.
Gandu Balramjee himself
{quote}
"The valiant Rama of Yadu's race, O king, always used to say that there is no one equal to Duryodhana in encounters with the mace. He of the Vrishni race, O Bharata, used to boast of thee, O lord, in every assembly."
{end}
Fourth.
Duryodhans mace was heavy unlike balrams.
[quote]
"Pierced with wordy darts, O Rama, from every side, the mighty and heroic Duryodhana hath risen from the lake armed with his heavy mace."
[end]
Logic - he was able to wield it with consummate ease while battling. When all Balram does is hold a cup of wine/alcohol or maybe a plough then what luck would he have in using a heavy object constantly as a weapon.
=
DUMBING IT ALL DOWN;
In the 1st quote
It say's "in battle he is Balrams equal" {sankarshana} but a other side of the coin is this quote "in might there is none superior to me on earth" and Balram is on earth in Dwaraka. Meaning Balram is not superior, and when it comes to just "might" Balram is weak infront of Duryodhan.

I wont elaborate the 2nd quote.

3RD quote:
When it comes to this one well its very easy to understand because Balram himself admits nobody could equal prince Suyodhana in a mace fight. So Suyodhan is indeed above Balram.
4TH;
In the fourth i dont need to explain but clearly Suyodhan is better because he is able to use heavy equipment in his fight's, balram never used heavy equipment or fought with it.
=
LAST ONE.
100 king's sucked off Duryodhan (nobody did the same to Balram):
"He to whom hundreds of kings used to bow down in fear, lieth today on the field of battle, surrounded by beasts of prey."
Conclusion - duryodhan was a BETTER mace fighter than Balarama.
===
2) Union of Jarasandha & KalayAvana;
Kį¹›iį¹£hṇa thought about the situation and said, “Ah, a great danger now threatens the Yadus from two sides If powerful Jarāsandha comes while. We two are busy fighting Kālayavana, Jarāsandha may kill Our relatives or else take them away to his capital."
Point - if Balaram is really better than arjun, duryodhan, sisupal and rukmi why did he fail to protect his country from two sides? Krishna could have confronted Jarasandh so Balram would not be humiliated again by Magadh's lord. That would leave Balram in Mathura to defend it from Kalyavan. His chickening out proves that Balram lacked any power to confront the mighty greek army or a single warrior of the greek race like Kalayavana. Balram is a chutiya.
Him getting scared shows that he was inferior to these people.

LORD KUBER!
[Quote]
"Kubera's Nairrata army vanquished King Muchukunda, who in turn defeated them later."
[End]

Muchukundh is the guy that slew Kalayavan.... and Kalayavan beat Balram.... So Kuber's army had better warriors than chutiya Balarama.
==
3rd)
Warriors who go by the name "Kritvarma" and "Satyaki" even "Abhimanyu" have dealt with and beaten many group attacks. Why does Balram fail to do the same?
Duryodhan also beat a couple of group attacks and so did king Drupad (in Sambhav Parva) riding on a single chariot.

Drupad's power popularly described;
"Careering over the field of battle like a fiery wheel, king Drupada with his arrows smote Duryodhana and Vikarna and even the mighty Karna and many other heroic princes and numberless warriors, and slaked their thirst for battle. Then all the citizens showered upon the Kurus various missiles like clouds showering rain-drops upon the earth. Young and old, they all rushed to battle, assailing the Kurus with vigour. The Kauravas, then, O Bharata, beholding the battle become frightful, broke and fled wailing towards the Pandavas.
[End]

Kritvarma's achievement on day 14;
"The mighty chariot warrior, Kritavarman, then achieved a most wonderful feat their as, alone, he held in check all the Parthas with their followers. Having thus vanquished the Parthas. The forces of the Pandavas then, thus slaughtered by the son of Hridika began to run in all directions, unable to stay coolly in battle. Having vanquished the sons of Pandu headed by Bhimasena himself, the son of Hridika stayed in battle like a blazing fire"
==
Hypocrisy of Mahabharat fanclubs.
1st] They insult the warrior/character named "Satyaki" alot because ten of his son's were slain infront of him by Bhurishravas, however no body every insulted Balaram, underrated or degraded him when they read about 10 sons of Balaram getting pwned and slain by Jarasandha infront of namard Balarama's eyesight because their is a severe bias in the community of indian's.

2nd] Balram gets called best mace fighter by ignorant fans, yet they ignore how the only time Balram got involved in a mace fight was with Jarasandha who defeated him easily despite not being at his peak as a fighter. Same Jarasandha could not gain any advantage over Bheem in wrestling for fourteen day's. Even in physical strength Balram does not deserve to be considered the foremost or best.

Balram would lose in a mace fight to shalya, duryodhana, bheem, arjuna etc. Because Arjuna was trained in use of mace's by guru Drona & lord Yama even obtaining the mace of Yama.
========
Jarasandha slew each of Balram's son's and made their baap cry.
[Quote]
"Jarāsandha, angered, carrying a bow, set out to kill the Yadus, like a lion deer. Ānanda, Śatrudamana, Nandana, ŚrÄ«dhvaja, Dhruva, Devānanda, Cārudatta, Pīṭha, Hariį¹£eṇaka, Naradeva' these ten sons of Bala in the front of battle were killed by Jarāsandha, like goats in the front of a sacrifice. Kṛṣṇa’s army fled at the sight of the princes’ slaughter and Māgadha (Jarāsandha) followed it, killing, like a tiger a herd of cows."
[End]
=
Moral of the tale/story - never, ever, show respect of any kind to chutiyas.

Proof their were mace warrior's better than Balrama.

Opinion of Dhritrashtra.
[Quote]
"Of all wielders again of the mace, there is none equal to Bhima; and there is none also who is so skillful a rider of elephants. On chariot, they say, he yields not to even Arjuna."
"As to might of arms, he is equal to ten thousand elephants. Well-trained and active, he who hath again been rendered bitterly hostile."
[End]
===
Proving that Arjun > Bheem.
1; Word of Shiva "There is no Kshatriya who is equal to thee in courage, and patience. And, O sinless one, thy strength and prowess are almost equal to mine."
2; Word of Karna "Amongst all the Parthas, Phalguna is the strongest. At him I will hurl the fatal dart of Sakra's workmanship."
3; Word of guru Drona.
[Quote]
"Thou thinkest that Arjuna, the son of Kunti, was worn out in battle. O mighty-armed Kaurava! Listen to what I truly say regarding his prowess. If Savyasachin's wrath is excited, neither Gandharvas, nor Yakshas nor Rakshasas can venture to bear him. On the occasion of the tale of cattle, the Gandharvas headed by Chitrasena and others were vanquished by him. That firm bowman rescued you, while you were being carried away by those Gandharvas."
"Nivatakavachas also, those enemies of the celestials, that were unslayable in battle by the celestials, themselves, were vanquished by that hero. Thousands of Danavas dwelling in Hiranyapura, that tiger among men vanquished. How can human beings then withstand him? O monarch, youve seen with ur own eyes how this army, although exerting themselves so heroically, has been destroyed by the son of Pandu."
[End]
Arjuna even lifted and strung that bow in Swayamvar Parva that Jarasandha could not string. Karna also failed to string it. When u consider how Jarasandha is better than Balram then its clear Balram would fail in stringing it too if he dared to try and participate.
========
Balram as a person, individual etc.
He supported slavery.
{Quote}
"The great Rama, having duly bathed there, made presents unto the Brahmanas, O Janamejaya, and worshipped them thus. Having made diverse present consisting of diverse kinds of gems as also kine and elephants and female slaves and sheep and goats, he then retired into the woods."
{End}
Logic; balram didnt have real respect for a woman. The description talks of females being slaves.
He gave respect to a baby murderer/killer.
[Quote]
"At Mount Mahendra He saw Lord Paraśurāma and offered Him prayers, and then He bathed in the seven branches of the Godāvarī River."
[End]

Proof that Bhargav parshurama slew a bunch of babies.
{Quote}
"Rama once more slaughtered them quickly, not sparing the very children, O king! Indeed, the earth became once more strewn with the bodies of Kshatriya children of premature birth. As soon as Kshatriya children were born, Rama slaughtered them."
{End}

Gandu Balram failed to prevent his 2 disciples from fighting eachother.
[Quote]
"They did not accept Lord Balarāma’s request, O King, although it was logical, for their mutual enmity was irrevocable. Each of them constantly remembered the insults and injuries he had suffered from the other."
[End]

So Balram is a guy that cant even stop 2 warriors from duking it out. Hes that teacher in class that fails to control a classroom of young student's.

Edit [date may 22nd, 2022, 10;23 PM]
Refuting yet one more misconception of gandu team's/fanclubs.
Seshnaag does not hold or lift the weight of the entire world/universe.
[quote]
"On the northern province of that soft-water ocean there is a hugely enormous mountain named Jaataruupa-shila, Golden Rock Mountain, which glitters like gold and which spreads across thirteen yojana-s. There you shall see then, oh, vanara-s, the lotus-petal broad-eyed thousand-hooded serpent god in black clothing, namely Ananta, sitting on the top of that mountain and sustaining the earth on his head, who will be like moon in his brilliance and whom all beings hold in reverence."
[end]
Comment - this ananta lived on a jatarupa mountain, he was another overrated beggar.
=
2nd-edit (September 11th, 2023 12:15 AM):
Even Arjuna's other son Iravan was compared to "Ananta" so seshnaag himself is also weak or a joker.
[quote]
"Surrounded on all sides, in that battle by Nagas, that Naga, O king, assumed a huge form mighty as Ananta himself. With diverse kinds of Nagas then he covered the Rakshasa. While being covered by those Nagas, that bull among Rakshasas reflected for a moment, and assuming the form of Garuda, he devoured those snakes."
[complete]
Logic: it's clear-like-water that Ananta Seshnaag is no big deal, any random snake could copy him, his form and technique.

Seshnaag's location.
"This foremost of cities that thou beholdest and which resembles the Amaravati of the chief of the celestials himself, is known by the name of Bhogavati. It is ruled over by Vasuki, the king of the Nagas. That Shesha dwelleth here, who, in consequence of his ascetic austerities of the foremost order, is able to support this earth with all her vastness. His body is like that of a white mountain. He is decked in celestial ornaments. He hath a thousand heads. His tongues are blazing like flames of fire, and he is endued with great strength."
[end]
Logic - this was mentioned as a place that Ravan conquered.

Proof.
{quoted}
"After proceeding to Bhogavati city (the abode of Nagas in Patala one of the seven regions under the earth), the serpents there were defeated by you."
{ending}
Logic - so the same ravan who people make fun of mock and shame is a guy that seshnaag with all nagas together lost too.

If uttar kanda is genuine/authentic then vali, sahastarjun, mahabali (asura), the multiple sons of varun dev were all superior to seshnaag too cause they defeated ravana their.

Sisupala the underrated tigerlike man/warrior of Chedi pradesh.

The character of Sisupal very rarely garnered proper representation in popular fiction's about Mahabharata like TV serials etc.

The opinion of shri dhritrashtr;
[quote]
"That one in their midst, who, having been endued with blazing beauty, shone like the sun, whom all persons deemed unassailable in battle and the very best of all drawers of the bow on earth, was slain by Krishna in a trice, by help of his own great might, and counting for naught the bold spirit of all the Kshatriya kings. Kesava cast his eyes on that Sishupala and smote him, enhancing the fame and honour of the sons of Pandu. It was the same Sishupala who was highly honoured by those kings at whose head stood the king of the Karusha tribe."
[End]
According to him (Dhritrashtra) the finest drawer of bow's in aryavarth is Sisupala not Bhishma, Karna, Parshuram etc. Unassailable mean's "unable to be attacked or defeated" and that is what Sisupal was viewed as, considered etc. People who think namards like karn, bhishm ever beat shri Sisupalji are liars and living in a dream.

The opinion that sri krishna himself had.
"Endued with great prowess, the ruler of the Chedis was slain by me before thy eyes. He also was incapable of being vanquished in battle by the gods and the Asuras together. I was born to slay him."
Sisupal physically can not be defeated by any devta unless that devta is "Indra", "Shiva" and "Vishnu" he had enough power to beat Surya, Tvasthri, Agni, Pavaka, Pushan, Bayu, Varuna etc.
===========
Bhishma's opinion.
[Quote]
"O Bhima, what king is there on earth that would dare abuse me thus, as this wretch of his race, already possessed by Death, hath done today? This mighty-armed one is, without doubt, a portion of Hari's energy. And surely, the Lord desireth to take back unto himself that energy of his own. In consequence of this, O tiger of the Kuru race, this tiger-like king of Chedi, so wicked of heart, roareth in such a way caring little for us all."
[End]
Logic - Sisupal is labelled a daredevil but also got called "mighty armed" & "tiger-like" by gandu Bhishm.

Krishna call's sisupala A HERO.
[Quote]
"The heroic son of Damaghosha, the well-known king Sisupala of mighty arms and great energy, was slain by me, O best of Bharatas, at thy Rajasuya sacrifice."
[End]
Logic - he deserves to be adressed now as MAHANAYAK SISUPALA
==
Krishna listed 5 of his crimes:
"This wretch of cruel deeds, ye kings, hearing that we had gone to the city of Pragjyotisha, came and burnt Dwaraka, although he is the son of my father's sister. While king Bhoja was sporting on the Raivataka hill, this one fell upon the attendants of that king and slew and led away many of them in chains to his own city. Sinful in all his purpose, this wretch, in order to obstruct the sacrifice of my father, stole the sacrificial horse of the horse-sacrifice that had been let loose under the guard of armed men. Prompted by sinful motives, this one ravished the reluctant wife of the innocent Vabhru (Akrura) on her way from Dwaraka to the country of the Sauviras. This injurer of his maternal uncle, disguising himself in the attire of the king of Karusha, ravished also the innocent Bhadra, the princess of Visala, the intended bride of king Karusha."
https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02044.htm
List;
Burned down Dwaraka & surpassed Hanuman. (1)
Defeated the attendants of Bhoja's king a relative of Kritvarma etc, and arrested many of the survivors. (2)
Freed the innocent horse of ashwamedha but successfully won a battle with the yadava gaurds. (3)
Raped Akrur's wife. (4)
Abducted Visala's princess Bhadra (5)
=========
Allies of brave Shisupal.

Quote 1:
"
Sisupala rose from his excellent seat, and accompanied by the kings, went out of that assembly."
https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02036.htm
Commentary; the people accompanying him were not just kings they were his allies it is clear Sisupal had more power and control than pajeet duryodhan and pajeet hanumanji.
Quote 2:
"
Sisupala that mower of foes with eyes red as copper from anger, addressed those rulers of men and said When I am here to head ye all, what are ye thinking of now? Arrayed let us stand in battle against the assembled Vrishnis and the Pandavas? And the bull of the Chedis, having thus stirred the kings up, began to consult with them how to obstruct the completion of the sacrifice."
Quote 3:
"
This Sisupala possessed of little intelligence is desirous of taking along with him all these kings, through the agency of him who is the soul of the universe, to the regions of Yama."
Quote 4:
"
There were some among the kings who spoke not a word during those unspeakable moments but merely sat gazing at Janarddana. And some there were that rubbed in rage their palms with their forefingers. And there were others who deprived of reason by rage bit their lips with their teeth."
"
And some there were that became excited with anger; while others became mediators."
https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02044.htm
Commentary; it is clear the people who were sisupal's allies are the mards that were angry with krishna and angry at the incident, sisupal had many supporters he was not alone.

Quote 5:
"Because I have come here with My respected elder brother, kings partial to Śiśupāla may well be attacking My capital city."
==========
Sisupal had better speed than raj kumar Bharata (the sibling of shri rama).

Bharat's speed.
Quote:
"Seeing the city of Ayodhya in front, after spending seven nights on his way, Bharata the tiger among men, spoke the following words to his charioteer."
[End]
Logic - after a seventh night the 8th morning comes, it took eight days for him to go south of Kekay and reach the city of Ayodhya.
Gandu Bharat did not wait for any of the followers, he went as fast as possible.
[Quote]
"Carrying the gifts and jewels, given to me by the king who annihilates enemies my followers became tired on the way and I arrived ahead of them."

But Sisupal made it from Cedi all the way to a location seperated by water too (Dwaraka) in a quick amount of time.
In the incident where he burnt dwaraka he had to travel.

Quote:
"This cruel wretch came and burnt Dwaraka, although he is the son of my father's sister."
{end}
[Photo is above]
=
Sisupala's family.
1:
"The youthful and mighty prince of the Chedis who was of the hue of the dark lotus, and despatched him to Yama's abode with his driver and steeds. Beholding the chief of the Malavas, the descendant of Puru, and the youthful ruler of the Chedis slain in this very sight by the son of Drona."
2:
"Dhrishtaketu, O monarch, that foremost of car-warriors among the Cedis, after accomplishing the most difficult feats, hath repaired to the abode of Yama."
3:
"That lord of Earth, Suketu, the son of Shishupala, having slain many foes, hath at last been slain by Drona in battle."
4:
"Then Suketu, the son of Citraketu, O king, quickly proceeded towards the mighty Shikhandi plunged into such distress and assailed in that manner by Kripa with his arrows. Indeed, the young prince of immeasurable soul rushed towards the chariot of Sharadvata's son."
"Then the prince, O sire, cut off Kripa's bow with arrow fixed thereon, and with another shaft struck hard the latter's driver in a vital limb. The grandson of Gautama then, filled with rage, took up a new and very strong bow and struck Suketu with thirty arrows in all his vital limbs."
Comment - the quote's specifically for "Citraketu" and not Suketu.

5:
"While Satyaki proceeded against Duryodhana. And Srutasravas was engaged with Drona's son, and Yudhamanyu with Citrasena."
Proof that the term srutasravas meant a person related to Sisupal.
[Quote]
"O mighty-armed king, hearing that the son of Srutasravas (Sisupala) had been slain by me, Salwa, O best of the Bharata race, came to the city of Dwaravati."
[End]

6;
"Upon the slaughter of the ruler of the Chedis, his son who was conversant with the highest weapons, excited with wrath, sought to bear the burthen of his sire. Him also, Drona, smiling, despatched to the abode of Yama by means of his shafts, like a huge and mighty tiger in the deep woods slaying an infant deer."

7:
{Quote}
"That relative of the Pandavas, the mighty bowman Dhrishtaketu, the heroic son of Sisupala, the king of the Chedis, is a Maharatha."
{End}

8;
"Sarabha, the son of Sisupala, endued with great strength, first encountered Arjuna in battle"
TO PUT IT SIMPLY; sisupal had brother's, sons, grandsons who fought for the pandav army in Kurukshetra. Not counting "Sarabha" though because king Sarabha protested the horse sacrifice of Pandava's.
=========
MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT LORD SISUPALA.
Misconception - "he lost to karna"
Debunk;
Sisupal is only mentioned as being one of the suitors at the kalinga princess's swayamvar he is never mentioned as being a monarch that was defeated by karna. Santi Parva never claims that sisupal was among those who were involved in the attempt of preventing the princess's abduction by Duryodhan. The names of those king's who engaged in battle with karna is not mentioned.

Another part of the story is that Sisupal may not have had all the proper military training, thus he was not at his physical peak or prime as a fighter. If he lost we should consider the fact that Sisupala didnt have a celestial armor or a quiver of divine weapons.

It was not a fair battle with equal footings that can test who is really a more skilled fighter (which is only going to be tested when both opponents have access to same resources). If you see the full side of the coin then you will conclude that even if he did fight and lose then it does not mean Sisupala is inferior to namards like Karna.

Why did Sisupal show Karna respect in Rajasuya Parva?
It's ture that he praised karna by listing him as a king to be offered arghya worship but this is just one drop in a bucket, meaning not the full truth.
Because Sisupal even praised many other character's including a mere prince like vrishasena (who had no achievement's at the time), and a feat less warrior like king Bahlika. He also praised Suyodhana (who had no military victories at the time so far in life).
Basically Sisupala's purpose was to bring up the names of as many monarchs and important people as possible to persuade bhishma, yudhisthir & other individuals to oppose the idea of worshiping krishna it had nothing to do with him considering himself inferior to those monarch's.
Hypothetical scenario if a jealous tiger wants to prevent a lion from getting a award, then that tiger would compare that lion to a bunch of jackal's, rats, and gandus.
JAY SHREE SISUPAL!
Difference between karna & sisupal.
1 - Sisupal burnt down Dwaraka, while karna had no achievement comparable to that prior to Kurukshetra's war.
2 - Sisupal was involved in many battle's and considered unable to be injured, while karna was defeated in a battle by infantrymen belonging to the tribe of Gandharvas, he also got beaten by Bheem (in Rajasooyam), Arjun (disguised as the brahmin), old king Drupada etc. Sisupal however had no such defeat.
3 - Sisupal had been a experienced and seasoned warrior general in Jarasandha's army. But a high rank like that never fell into karna's pocket.
4 - The guy who Sisupal worked for (Jarasandha) had a long list of military victories, while whoever Karna worked under (Suyodhana) had failed too many times on the battlefield (prior to Kurukshetra).
  • Jarasandh
    • Defeated thirty three clan's minimum including Panchal of Drupad.
    • Defeated krishna's family members in Mathura.
    • Aided Kamsa in establishing a dominion over the Bhoja's.
    • While staying in Girivraja (city) tossed a mace all the way to Gadavasan (location right close to Mathura).
    • Beat many nameless king's (whose names were not mentioned).
    • Caused even king Bhagdatta to submit towards him and pay tribute.
    • Kingdom's of kuntibhoj, kulinda, Ayodhya, Matsya, Bhadraka etc were defeated by him.
    • Despite being 2 generation's older than Bheem he lasted for 335 hrs to 336 hour's (14 day's) against him.
  • Duryodhan
    • Vanquished by king Drupad's citizens.
    • Vanquished by Gandharva foot soldier's.
    • Bullied & punked around with his brothers at hand's of Bheem.
    • Trounced on by the brahmins at Swayamvara Parva.
    • Failed to win any battles prior to Kurukshetra.
    • Could not last more than 1 hour against Bheem for that mace fight.
  • Anyone can infer and confirm who was more successful as a warrior.
    SISUPALA WAS A BETTER WARRIOR THAN KARNA BECAUSE KARNA NEVER HAD A ACHIEVEMENT LIKE BURNING DWARAKA DOWN.
MISCONCEPTION - "He was afraid of Bhima"
Debunk; the truth is sisupal was a shrewd man and smart too, his cleverness and cunning mind helped him win many things in life. He opted for a peace treaty to serve many purposes, firstly he avoided mass loss of life by choosing to pay tribute instead of fighting a war.
Secondly he got a profitable deal as he let one of the pandav brothers marry his daughter. Thirdly the pandavs were the sons of his uncle vasudevs sister kunti who is also the sister of sisupal's mother so he was a cousin to bhima by blood. This could strengthen bond's and help him in the future for his ambition's to be complete.

He was willing to fight Bheem & confident of a win.
[Quote]
The powerful king of Chedi, beholding Bhima of terrible prowess in such rage, laughingly said
"Release him, O Bhishma! Let all the monarchs behold him scorched by my prowess like an insect in fire."
[End]
From same link:
"even though Bhima was angry, the brave Sisupala depending on his own manhood, did not tremble in fear. And though Bhima was leaping up impetuously every moment, Sisupala bestowed not a single thought on him, like a lion that recks not a little animal in rage. The powerful king of Chedi, beholding Bhima of terrible prowess in such rage, laughingly said"
Logic; sisupal is described as a brave lion while bheem was nothing but a tiny animal in comparison, sisupala could easily kick bheem out of the earth
Bhishma is inferior to Sisupal.
Quote:
"assuredly, O Bhishma, thou art alive at the pleasure only of these kings. Employed in acts contrary to the opinions of all, there is none else like thee!"
Hearing these harsh words of the ruler of Chedi, Bhishma, O king, said in the hearing of the king of Chedi "Truly am I alive at the pleasure of these rulers of earth."
[End]
Bhishma basically admitted he is nothing before those king's.

Also Dantavakra (sisupal's friend) was not a king of Karush.
Quote:
"Dantavakra, the mighty king of the Adhirajas and making him pay tribute, re-established him on his throne."
==
MISCONCEPTION - "he had no military feat's"
Debunk.
While Sri Krishna talked of Sisupala's wins (burning Dwaraka & beating the guards of the ashwamedh steed/bhoja king) he was also Jarasandha's general in chief.

[Quote]
"O monarch, king Sisupala endued with great energy, hath placed himself under his protection and hath become the generalissimo of his forces."
[End]
How many battles did Jarasandha win?
[Quote]
"That person bowed down to Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and with joined palms he described to the Lord how a number of kings were suffering because Jarāsandha had imprisoned them."
"Twenty thousand kings who had refused to submit absolutely to Jarāsandha during his world conquest had been forcibly imprisoned by him in the fortress named Girivraja."
[End]
Byasa's son Suka said;
"Jarāsandha had defeated 20,800 kings in combat and thrown them into prison. As these kings emerged from the Giridroṇī fortress, they appeared dirty and shabbily dressed. They were emaciated by hunger, their faces were dried up, and they were greatly weakened by their long imprisonment."

Conclusion - Apart from defeating the yadava race at Mathura he had conquered at lowest 33 lands at highest 20,833 lands. Generals were in every war but it is likely before Sisupal their were other characters who served in the role of "general" to mighty Jarasandha.

Sisupal should be involved in atleast 20 percent of those wars. He had a contribution in them, that's what a general is for. 4,000 king's have been beaten by Sisupal, he defeated them all.
He most likely burnt Dwaraka down when Pradyumna, Samba, Sarana, Nanda, Ugrasen, Vasudev and maybe Balram were their. Among people that were not present it is likely only Krishna & Satyabhama were absent (they were in Pragjyotish Pur at the time). It is indeed a possibility as even king Shalva did huge damage to Dwaraka alone when Pradyumn was present.

The condition of Sisupal's enemy;
What made no sense.
{quote}
"Bhimasena and Shishupala and the Karushas, Matsyas, the Suras, the Kaikayas, the Kasis and the Kosalas, all these brave heroes, endued with great activity, assailed Vasusena."
{end}
Why it didnt make sense to me; sisupal was mentioned in the war as if he was actually alive after krishna cut his neck and not dead.
