But even if we (at logic astra) did accept that Karna conquered the world then big deal (sarcasm). Many others also did what he did.
- Pandu
- Nahusa
- Prahlada
- Kartavirya
- Arjuna
- Yudhishthira
- Their have been many conquerors of the world in Mahabharata.
- Pandu conquering the world
Quote:
And after thirty days had elapsed, the Kuru king, O monarch, started from his capital for the conquest of the world. And after reverentially saluting and bowing to Bhishma and the other elders of the Kuru race, and with adieus to Dhritarashtra and others of the family, and obtaining their leave, he set out on his grand campaign, accompanied by a large force of elephants, horses, and cars, and well-pleased with the blessings uttered by all around and the auspicious rites performed by the citizens for his success. And Pandu, accompanied by such a strong force marched against various foes. And that tiger among men--that spreader of the fame of the Kurus--first subjugated the robber tribes of asarna. He next turned his army composed of innumerable elephants, cavalry, infantry, and charioteers, with standards of various colours against Dhirga--the ruler of the kingdom of Maghadha who was proud of his strength, and offended against numerous monarchs. And attacking him in his capital, Pandu slew him there, and took everything in his treasury and also vehicles and draught animals without number. He then marched into Mithila and subjugated the Videhas. And then, O bull among men, Pandu led his army against Kasi, Sumbha, and Pundra, and by the strength and prowess of his arms spread the fame of the Kurus. And Pandu, that oppressor of foes, like unto a mighty fire whose far-reaching flames were represented by his arrows and splendour by his weapons, began to consume all kings that came in contact with him. These with their forces, vanquished by Pandu at the head of his army, were made the vassals of the Kurus. And all kings of the world, thus vanquished by him, regarded him as the one single hero on earth even as the celestials regard Indra in heaven. And the kings of earth with joined palms bowed to him and waited on him with presents of various kinds of gems and wealth, precious stones and pearls and corals, and much gold and silver, and first-class kine and handsome horses and fine cars and elephants, and asses and camels and buffaloes, and goats and sheep, and blankets and beautiful hides, and cloths woven out of furs. And the king of Hastinapura accepting those offerings retraced his steps towards his capital, to the great delight of his subjects. And the citizens and others filled with joy, and kings and ministers, all began to say, 'O, the fame of the achievements of Santanu, that tiger among kings, and of the wise Bharata, which were about to die, hath been revived by Pandu. They who robbed before the Kurus of both territory and wealth have been subjugated by Pandu--the tiger of Hastinapura--and made to pay tribute.' And all the citizens with Bhishma at their head went out to receive the victorious king.
Analysis: Read the text above, it clearly suggests and it is written that Pandu defeated all kings of the earth. In this way the whole world was conquered by Pandu. A so-called napunsak was able to do what Karna failed to do.

- Yudhishthira says that he himself conquered the whole world
- Yudhishthira tells Krishna that he (himself) has conquered the whole earth (aka world).
Quote:
And after Krishna had been seated at ease, that bull among men, the son of Pandu, with Dhaumya and Dwaipayana and the other sacrificial priests and with Bhima and Arjuna and the twins, addressed Krishna thus,-- 'O Krishna it is for thee that the whole earth is under my sway. And, O thou of the Vrishni race, it is through thy grace that vast wealth had been got by me. And, O son of Devaki, O Madhava, I desire to devote that wealth according to the ordinance, unto superior Brahmanas and the carrier of sacrificial libations.
Analysis: Yudhishthira ruled the whole world, he told this to Krishna and the latter did not have any objection, he did not disagree with Yudhisthira's words at all. So what is so great if Karna did what the Pandavas did?
- Nahusa even calls Yudhishthira a lord of the earth
Quote:
And, O lord of the earth, by Agastya have I been reduced to this pass!
Analysis: This is when Yudhishthira was in exile. He is called lord of the earth when he is in exile, away from society.
- Nahusa conquered the world
Quote:
And I was a king celebrated under the name of Nahusha. And by sacrifices and p. 360 asceticism and study of the Vedas and self-restraint and prowess I had acquired a permanent dominion over the three worlds. And when I had obtained such dominion, haughtiness possessed me. And thousands of Brahmanas were engaged in carrying my chair.
Analysis: Dominion aka dominance. Nahusa obtained dominance over all worlds. Not just earth. But Karna failed to obtain dominance over even just one world (earth) let alone other worlds.
Quote 2:
In days of yore, while I used to sojourn in heaven in a celestial chariot, revelling in my pride, I did not think of anything else, I used to exact tribute from Brahmarshis, Devas, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Rakshasas, Pannagas and all other dwellers of the three worlds. O lord of earth, such was the spell of my eyes, that on whatever creature, I fixed them, I instantly destroyed his power.
Analysis: This passage suggests that Nahusa defeated Gandharvas, Yakshas, Rakshasas, Pannagas, Devas & Brahmarshis etc and snatched any wealth they had from them. He forced them to hand over their belongings by making them pay tribute. The text suggests that Nahusa had some special ability to destroy a person's power (the ability to do something, have control over others).
- Prahlada conquered the world
In days of yore, the Daitya Prahlada, by the merit of his behaviour, snatched from the high-souled Indra his sovereignty and reduced the three worlds to subjection.
Analysis: According to Dhritarashtra (the father of useless Karna's best friend Duryodhana), the three worlds because the subjects of Prahlada.

Message to Karna fans below:
So if you all want to believe that Karna conquered the world then you Karna fans must accept that Yudhishthira conquered the world. Prahlada conquered the world. Nahusha conquered the world, even Arjuna conquered the world!
In the next post i will bring screenshots from BORI CE translation by Bibek Debroy. To prove this with crystal clear evidence that Karna did not conquer the earth.
- Kartavirya Arjuna (the thousand armed Arjuna from another Yuga not Mahabharata's Arjuna) also conquered the world.
Quote:
Meanwhile the mighty son of Kritavirya, viz., Arjuna of the Kshatriya order and ruler of the Haihayas, endued with great energy, highly virtuous in behaviour, and possessed of a thousand arms through the grace of (the great Rishi) Dattatreya, having subjugated in battle, by the might of his own arms, the whole earth with her mountains and seven islands, became a very powerful emperor and (at last) p. 102 gave away the earth unto the Brahmanas in a horse-sacrifice.
Analysis: It's written that after conquering the earth he donated it back to a Brahmana tribe during a horse sacrifice. But just like it's not true that this Arjuna had a thousand arms (it could be symbolism in the text) it's probably not true that he conquered the world. But since the text say so, then he did, if Karna conquered the world then Kartavirya Sahastrarjuna also conquered it and with ease. If this story is true then Arjuna is also a better donator and daanveer than Karna can ever be.
- It was also stated that Arjuna conquered the whole world
- As per Dhritarashtra
Quote:
Single-handed, Partha ravished Bhadra, and single-handed, he gratified Agni. Single-handed, he subjugated the whole Earth, and made all the kings pay tribute. Single-handed, with his celestial bow he slew the Nivatakavachas. Single-handed, he contended in battle with Mahadeva who stood before him in the guise of a hunter. Single-handed, he protected the Bharatas, and single-handed, he gratified Bhava. Single-handed, were vanquished by him all the kings of the Earth endued with fierce prowess. The Kurus cannot be blamed.
Analysis: Dhritarashtra who was pro kaurava and was the father of Karna's best friend Arjuna, said these things. So he was being unbiased over here and true to himself. He claimed that Arjuna conquered the whole world. But the same man Dhritarashtra never claimed that Karna conquered the world. And some people may refute this by saying Dhritarashtra was mentioning PARTHA in this text not Arjuna and Partha could mean any sons of Kunti. But the reason in this text it is Arjuna is because all of the feats that are mentioned by Dhritarashtra (in this text) have been performed by Arjuna. So it has to be him, also if you go back in the beginning of the section you can see Dhritarashtra talks about Arjuna.
- As per Sanjaya
Equal unto the chief of the celestials, that hero gratified Agni at Khandava and vanquished all the monarchs of the earth on the occasion of the great Rajasuya.Analysis: And Sanjaya was a suta just like Karna so he should also know the facts. He should also be unbiased as he is from Karna's race. As per maha gyani Sanjaya the Pandava prince Arjuna defeated all rulers of the earth (that would include Karna too) during the Rajasuya.
