Defeats of Bhishma the son of Ganga.

Disclaimer: Though i dont plan on making this blog that active anymore i have merely chosen to revive it with a couple of new posts for the simple fact that it is a debating resource for Arjuna fans. And it is a better source than any page run by a intolerant bhadsurat hanuman bhakt. So i will upload a few more posts on this blog. Even though i know that everyone who copied me, my content etc will never give a real man like me credit, because indians do not want to see a strong man succeed in real life. They only want to see losers like hanuman, karna, bhishma, parashuram get respect, izzat etc.

Now for a mature post below.

In this post i intend to provide multiple facts from Mahabharat against Bhishma that are never talked about. If anyone calls me biased then just know this my father is a fans of this namard Bhishma he became a fan by watching TV serials.

Though the title indicates the entire post will be about his loss the truth is that its a clickbait title, yes i will talk about Bhishma's losses but i will also highlight other things, and most of Bhishma's losses will be ignored as they are irrelevant to the points i want to make.

Points i want to make:
1 - Bhishma was a king of Hastinapur, the buddha chooha did not vow to never be a king.
2 - Bhishma was defeated by Satyaki two or three times fairly.
3 - Various reasons why Bhishma is not among the top 20 or 10 fighters in Mahabharat even if we exclude 2/3rds of the epic and many characters like Krishna's family in Dwaraka from the topic.

4 - Arjuna used bows that are not Gandiva many times.

5 - Bhishma did attack Shikhandi and many other women so it was not a moral code for Bhishma to never touch a woman. He had to touch Amba, Ambalika, Ambika to abduct them, the point is Bhishma attacked women so his excuse of not fighting Shikandi is just a lie to avoid fighting a warrior that was more powerful than him, and avoiding shame.

6 - Bhishma recieved a power boost and remained amped up in the Kurukshetra war whenever he fought Pandavas as he was under control of a asura.
------------------

Why Satyaki defeated Bhishma twice.
1st defeat at Bhishma Parva.
Analysis of events:
  1. Bhisma went to face Bhima.
  2. Satyaki intervened and attacked Bhisma.
  3. Every warrior on the Kaurava side was losing to Satyaki no one could defeat him.
  4. Satyaki multiple times repulsed Bhishma (bull of the kuru lineage).
  5. Satyaki was roaring too.
  6. Bhurishravas saw all warriors getting routed.
  7. Obviously it is Satyaki’s victory he was the warrior routing the opposition.
Bhishma calls the Pandavas victorious:
When Sanjaya says "Pandavas were victorious and roared like lion" then he is talking about the roars of Satyaki & then Ghatotkatcha.

Defeat 2:
"Satyaki used his arrows to swiftly bring down the aged Kuru’s charioteer. When his charioteer was killed, Bhishma, supreme among charioteers, was borne away from the field of battle by horses that were as fleet as the wind. O king! When the one who is great in his vows was thus carried away."
Source: Bori Critical Edition "Bhishma Parva"

Defeat 3:
"Satyaki then from desire of doing what was agreeable to Bhima, felled with his shaft the charioteer of the reverend Kuru grand-sire. Upon his charioteer being slain, that foremost of car-warriors, Bhishma, was borne away from the field of battle by his steeds with the speed of the wind."

Defeat 4:
Quote: "Then the mighty-armed Bhimasena, beholding Bhishma thus advancing like the Destroyer himself with wide-open mouth, rushed towards him, excited with wrath. At that moment, that foremost hero of Sini's race viz. Satyaki of sure aim, fell upon the grandsire, slaying his enemies (along the way) with his firm bow and causing thy son's army to tremble. And all the combatants who belonged to thy army were then, O Bharata, unable to impede the progress of that hero thus advancing with his steeds of silvery hue and scattering his sharp shafts furnished with handsome wings. At that time only Alamvusha succeeded in piercing him with ten shafts."
Reasoning: Among all warriors of the kuru army including parashuram's kutta student Bhishma no one was able to injure or stop Satyaki from doing everything he was doing firing arrows like a real man! Only Alamvusha could do something. But kutta bhishma could not!

Conclusion: I already provided two screenshots, a chapter number and a link to another authentic page/site. Their is no point or credibility in denying the simple fact of Bhishma being inferior to Satyaki. And the same goes for Parashuram he was not braver than Satyaki.
----------------------------
The truth about Bhishma.
He was in fact a KING OF HASTINAPUR.
1st quote: "Santanu's son, the Vasu born of Ganga, named Devavrata resembled Santanu himself in personal beauty, in habits and behaviour, and in learning. And in all branches of knowledge worldly or spiritual his skill was very great. His strength and energy were extraordinary. He became a mighty car-warrior. In fact he was a great king."

2nd quote (although his brother was king it was Bhishma who was manipulating, his younger bro was a puppet): "And Vichitravirya, placing himself under the command of Bhishma, ruled the ancestral kingdom." https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m01/m01102.htm

3rd quote (he was directly the ruler when his sibling was young): "after Chitrangada was slain, his successor Vichitravirya being a minor, Bhishma ruled the kingdom" https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m01/m01103.htm

4th quote (taking advantage of his nephews childhood):
"O king, virtuously ruled by Bhishma, the kingdom was adorned with hundreds of sacrificial stakes. And the wheel of virtue having been set in motion by Bhishma, and the country became so contented that the subjects of other kingdoms, quitting their homes, came to dwell there" https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m01/m01110.htm

5th quote: "Beholding him excited with wrath, O king, I was deprived of my senses." [Duryodhan tells Bhisma about what happened to him, reading carefully a reader can see how he adressed his grandpa as king so people need to stop being dumb]

6th quote: "He that was born of the energy of the Vasus, when he, that ruler of the earth, hath once more been united with the Vasus." https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m07/m07002.htm

After reading all this only a liar can claim he was never a king of that kingdom.

Bhishma abdicated the throne for his younger brother only after the brother was old enough and after bhishma himself served a term as Hastinapur's king, ruler & monarch. Then generations later he gave up the throne after serving yet another term, this time he declared his nephew as a successor.

-----------------------------
Why Bhishma is weak.
1) Despite shooting a person's chest he failed to kill that person.
The quote; "Then, O king, Bhishma, that foremost of smiters, struck Vasudeva between his two breasts with three arrows. And the slayer of Madhu, struck with those shafts shot from Bhishma's bow, shone in that battle, O king, like a flowering Kinsuka."

2) The bitter truth about Kurukshetra is that no matter what the situation in the first nine days it was always the fact that Bhishma is the first warrior on Suyodhana's camp that gave in when a enemy fought back. He always sounded a retreat he encouraged his warriors to run away like kuttas, losers, namards, chakkas, fudhus, chutiyas, bhuzdils, their was no real mard in the Kuru army of Hastinapur because it was led by a namard like Bhishma, so even warriors like Drona, Ashwathama, Jayadrath, Bhagadatta etc could not show their mardangi in war because of Bhishma's poor leadership qualities.

3) Bhishma admitted his enemies are unbeatable.
A -  "He is incapable of being vanquished in battle today by any means, judging by his form that we see now so like unto that of the Destroyer himself at the end of the Yuga. This vast host again (of ours) is incapable of being rallied. Behold, looking at one another, our troops are flying away." [Bhishma to Drona on the 2nd day]
B - "With that truthful hero, that ornament of battle, that warrior accomplished in fight, p. 312 let peace, O king, be soon made!" [Bhishma to Suyodhan on the 10th day]

Their are alot more times Bhishma sucked up to an enemy, and sang praises of the Pandava's so he clearly was not a warrior capable of winning a fight.

4) Bhishma was inferior to other officers in the Kourav army reasons underneath.

A Bhishma suffered defeat at Satyaki's hands, the same Satyaki did lose to Bhagadatta, Jayadratha, Drona, Ashwathama so those 4 Kaurav officers should be ranked above Bhishma in any heirarchy of warriors.

B - Bhishma lost to Bheema in archery duels, the same Bheema was defeated convincingly by an average fighter like Suyodhana in a combat of arrows. The same Suyodhana was used as a punching bag by Satyaki, Yudhisthir, Ghatotkatch and other elite Pandava warlords.

Bheema even lost to Kritvarma when Kritvarma had to fight several others like Nakula at the same time on day 14. So Kritvarma is superior to "Bhishma" "Parashuram" & "anyone inferior to bhishma".
For this point i did not use links but rather well known facts, though karna fantards dont know anything they will say one correct thing that is Bheema was defeated by Kritvarma on the 14th day.
And since Bhishma lost to that same Bheema anyone can guess what Bhishma would be able to do against Suyodhan, Drona, Kritvarma etc. What could be worse? Maybe Parashuram trying to compete with these men would be worse cause he would lose just like Bhishma.

5) In ten days of combat Bhishma could not successfully kill a vast portion of warriors, none of the elites on the Pandava side were killed. Even though he promised Duryodhan everyday "either the pandavas will kill me or i will kill the Pandavas" and Bhishma was possessed by an Asura still he could not do anything significant. Just made Krishna lift a weapon then Krishna put the weapon back in it's sheath.

"Other Asuras will also possess Bhishma and Drona and Kama and others. Possessed by those Asuras, these heroes will cast away their kindness and fight with thy foes."

6th point) Bhishma does not have great weapons like Vaishnavastra, Shakti-astra, Pasupata, Vajra etc he does not even have a common astra like the Brahmastra. What threat could he pose to giants like Drona? The son of Ganga did not have a variety, whichever weapon he used on Parashuram was also used by Dhrishtadyumna against Dron and Dron countered it with ease.
===
People say Ganga's namard son Bhishma never had a fight with Shikhandi but Mahabharat says the opposite.

Bhishma struck Srikandi 3 times.
7th day.
[begin]
"King Yudhishthira then, beholding Sikhandin flying away, having had his weapon cut off by Santanu's son became filled with anger. The high-souled Ajatasatru, angrily addressing Sikhandin."
[complete]
Proof it was not Jayadratha who cut her bow.
[Quote]
"With thy bow cut off avoiding the battle, and vanquished by the royal son of Santanu, whither dost thou go, forsaking thy kinsmen and brothers?"
Logic - yudisther said "vanquished by the royal beta of shree Shantanu" so its clear who did the action.
9th day;
[begin]
"Drupada pierced Bhishma with five and twenty shafts, and Virata pierced him with ten, and Sikhandin with five and twenty. Deeply pierced (with those shafts) he became covered with blood, and looked beautiful like a red Asoka variegated with flowers. Then the son of Ganga pierced, in return, each of them with three straight shafts. And then, O sire, he cut off Drupada's bow with a broad-headed arrow. The latter then, taking up another bow, pierced Bhishma with five shafts. And he pierced Bhishma's charioteer also with three sharp shafts on the field of battle."
Logic - i think bhishma hitting her was unintentional because in the previous paragraph bhishma avoided her, but he felt like here in particular for his own defence he needed to hit her.

Final 3rd;
"Then Sikhandin, O king, excited with rage, struck the grandsire of the Bharatas in the chest with nine sharp arrows. The Kuru grandsire Bhishma, however, though struck by him in battle, thus, trembled not, O monarch, but remained unmoved like a mountain during an earthquake."
[pause/break-in-between]
"Thus pierced by others, also with thousands of arrows, the mighty car-warrior Bhishma pierced those others in return with great speed. And as regards the arrows shot by those warriors, Bhishma, possessed of prowess in battle that was incapable of being baffled, equally checked them all with his own straight arrows."
=
4th/bonus;
Bhishma used physical power on women because in order to abduct/kidnap princesses he would need to put hands on them. So when he captured Amva & her two sister's then he clearly used physical force, they came along with him knowing that if they refused then he'd force them to by threats or his own power.

OFFTOPIC BELOW
Proof Arjuna had used bows besides Gandiva during Kurukshetra war.
In Kurukshetra.
Part 1 (Arjuna's bow was cut off so he used another bow):
"Conversant with all modes of warfare the high-souled son of Ganga and Santanu, though attacked in battle by all the sons of Pandu united together, wavered not at all. Of fierce might and great energy king Jayadratha of sure aim, advancing p. 213 in battle, forcibly cut off with his own excellent bow the bows of all those mighty car-warriors."
"Unknown to thee, O hero, Dhananjaya hath engaged in the dreadful battle."
Note - possibly jayadratha cut a bow arjuna had so arjuna then used his best bow to fight him.

This makes logical sense as using a tough bow like gandiva can drain u or it would require immense energy/stamina but if he brought a dozen regular bows in his chariot with him then he would spend less power.
=
Part 2:
- The bow he used to defeat Drupad (after Drupad defeated Karna, Yuyutsu, Duhsasan, Suyodhana combined).
- The bow Arjuna had when he defeated Karna in Draupadi's Swayamvara.
-Yet another bow Arjuna kept for defeating the thieves at Adi Parva:
"Dhananjaya, capable of using both his arms with equal skill, armed with the bow and cased in mail and riding in his war-chariot decked with a standard, pursued the thieves, and piercing them with his arrows, compelled them to give up the booty. Benefiting the Brahmana thus by making over to him his kine, and winning great renown, the hero returned to the capital."
- A bow Arjuna held during the incident he defeated the warriors of Dwaraka for Subhadra's body:
Sahadeva said "that hero of immeasurable splendour who having vanquished single-handed the assembled Yadavas in battle, ravished Subhadra with the consent of Vasudeva."
Conclusion: Not only did Arjuna not use Gandiva, he fairly defeated each of the Yadava warriors, whether that be Pradyumna or Samba, even Satyaki (the man that goes on to kick the ass of ganga's napunsak beta Bhishma).

Logical rating:
1st - Arjuna
2nd - Satyaki
3rd - Bhishma
4th - Parshuram
5th - ???? (anyone weaker than Parshuram)

Also in bhishma parva chapter 86 of kmg: what happened is that Arjuna and his brothers did gang up on Bhishma but only momentarily, they saw an opportunity and simply took it, but after seeing their grandfather in pain Arjuna felt sorry and decided to stop, then bhishma overpowered the brothers Arjuna had while Jayadratha came to defend Bhishma, he ambushed Arjuna taking the brave tiger by surprise Jayadrath cut off the Gandiva bow.

Then Arjuna used a normal bow and defeated Jayadrath, but since that man is his sister's husband Arjuna had no choice but to show Jayadrath daya & mercy.

Bhishma's power was increased by Danavs, Asuras etc:
"For aiding thee, many heroic Danavas have been born on the earth. Other Asuras will also possess Bhishma and Drona and Kama and others. Possessed by those Asuras, these heroes will cast away their kindness and fight with thy foes."
"Indeed, when the Danavas will enter their heart and possess them completely, flinging all affections to a distance, becoming hard-hearted, these warriors will strike every body opposed to them in battle without sparing sons, brothers, fathers, friends, disciples, relatives, even children and old men."
"O king, others with Bhishma, Drona, and Kripa at their head, having their faculties influenced by the Danavas, were not so affectionate towards the sons of Pandu as they had been."
Result: He still lost to warriors like Virat not just top fighters like Satyaki so Bhishma even with help was not powerful.

I dont think i have to say anything else, rather than glorify Arjuna's achievements or Satyaki's this post is largely about Bhishma instead.

Just one more thing.

The least any hater, stalker, or even fan of this blog can do whenever they use content from here is give credit to the king that typed this post.

Also let me know any viewer can make a comment just tell me or type to me what do you want me to post next?

And do not ask me to return to quora, i have my own plans for that venture.

  2. That racist Bhishma's career is littered with bitter losses and defeats. Most of his ass kickings were at Arjuna's foot whenever he met Arjuna then Bhishma got his ass beat. Once he got beat up twice in one day. So its a good thing you did not include the incidents where Arjuna won against Bhishma MAINLY BECAUSE people would say it is unfair due to the fact that Arjuna was too strong and anyone else wouldve lost just the same as Bhishma did. All things aside Bhishma deserved the pathetic life he got and his mother ganga deserves to be polluted river of tati that it is today. Most of the bhishma followers i met online are abusive, disrespectful, ignorant scum. Those are that types of people that create hatred in the world like that ugly namard Ninad Kshirsagar, and that hairy stanky eunuch Pavan Ingle.

Why Satyaki is better than Vishnu:
he defeated namard bhishma who defeated parashuram
he also defeated drona who had a counter to sammohan astra but parashuram failed to counter that weapon

      LIST:
      #1 - Satyaki
      #2 - Drona
      #3 - Dhrishtadyumn
#4 - Bhishma (a lucky club fighter and a amatuer with little skill, and a penis tinier than napunsak hanuman's 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣😎😎)
#5 - Parashuram and fudhu Vishnu (XD)

I wont put Shiva in the list as i have some respect for his power.

    1. yes but if virat had such a son then he should have been used against keechak, upakichaka or maybe the trigarts when they invaded his kingdom

    2. I think virata was not aware about the capabilities of his son that why he not used against trigartas.

    5. Shweta defeated bhishma.
Reference: Thereupon, Sweta covered Bhishma with an extensive net-work of arrows. And Bhishma also covered Sweta with a flight of arrows. And roaring like a couple of bulls, they rushed, like two infuriate elephants of gigantic size or two raging tigers, against each other. Baffling each other's weapons by means of their weapons, those bulls among men, viz., Bhishma and Sweta fought with each other, desirous of taking each other's life. In one single day Bhishma, infuriate with anger, could consume the Pandava army with his arrows, if Sweta did not protect it. Beholding the grandsire then turned off by Sweta, the Pandavas were filled with joy, while thy son became cheerless.
      Shweta defeated bhishma another time.
Reference:The son of Virata, however, beholding his dart cut off into fragments, became senseless with anger, and like one whose heart was overcome by (the arrival of) his hour, could not settle what to do. Deprived of his senses by anger, O king, the son of Virata, then, smiling, joyfully took up a mace for Bhishma's slaughter, with eyes red in wrath, and resembling a second Yama armed with mace, he rushed against Bhishma like a swollen torrent against the rocks. Regarding his impetuosity as incapable of cheek, Bhishma endued with great prowess and conversant with the might (of others), suddenly alighted on the ground for warding off that blow. Sweta then, O king, whirling in wrath that heavy mace, hurled it on Bhishma's car like the god Maheswara. 2 And in consequence of that mace intended for Bhishma's destruction, that car was reduced to ashes, with standard, and charioteer, and steeds and shaft. Beholding Bhishma, that foremost of car-warriors, become a combatant on foot, many car-warriors, viz., Salya and others, speedily rushed (to his rescue). Mounting then upon another car, and cheerlessly stretching his bow, Bhishma slowly advanced towards Sweta,

BY THE WAY i already read about the prince Sweta a long time ago i have a list of quotes for him

    7. i will tell the quotes once you accept hanuman is a pajeet, and the fact that ninad, bhinu, and everyone copies info from me and that hanuman was a weak warrior who lost to akshay kumar, meghanad, kumbh, nikumbha, kumbhkarna, and would be defeated by normal fighters like brihatkshatra, bheem, dwividh, mainda, draupadi etc, and that he also is weak infront of ravan, indra, shani etc and many other warriors

  5. There are plenty of versions of Mahabharata and each version differs from the other.I read the Bengali version supposed to be direct translation from Sanskrit version and in that version Bhishma was matchless. The KMG version in English is not a line to line translation and Kishari Mohan Ganguly himself said that he wrote in his own words.Even he termed Durayadhan as Suyodhan assuming that Duryadhan is a bad name and can not be someone's original name but actually Duriyadhan is a good name meaning someone who is difficult to fight against. So, whatever written in English version is not necessarily authentic. If Bhishma was really such a poor warrior, why were the Pandavas so worried about him?Why did Krishna broke his vow twice fearing that Bhishma will annihilate Pandavas? However, whether he broke the vow twice or once is another debate because KMG version has reparation of actions. In Bengali version it happened only once.Duryadhona had his greatest expectations from Bhishma. Even he sacrificed Karna's service to please Bhishma.Parushuram termed Bhisma as his best apprentice, so Drona or Karna can not be better than him.Above all, if that old warrior was so feeble why did the Pandavas begged and asked him to tell himself how they could defeat him?

Lol the bengali version & the kashi dasi version both mention bhishma losing fair fights, no incident ever showed him as you would put him "matchless" you are a fan that made up BS fake statements and claims.
Theirs no line from bengali mahabharat which mentions bhishma being matchless, theirs a big bengali mahabharat fan called aditya vikram maity and he provided references to prove bhishma was inferior to karna while karna was inferior to ashwathama & ashwathama was inferior to Drona who was inferior to Arjuna. Dont overrate lund choosers and namard paajeets like bhishma, parshuram, hanutati (hanuman), laxman ever again.
And even before fighting parshurama this bhishma character admits that a group of other kshatriyas defeated him earlier before he challenged parshupussy. Duryodhan did not sacrifice karna, it was karna himself who promised not to fight when bhishma is around.
