Best accomplishment's that Ram (son of Dashrath) achieved.

                                AS A WARRIOR THIS rAMa WAS VERY TOUGH.
I am not a hater of Ram, in this post i will only call him or adress him as "Ram" not shri, or lord or protagonist. Just me praising Meghanada does not mean that i have hatred for Ram or Rama. This post meant to be used by the reader's and audience as a debating resource for people.
I will not include the killing's of Ravan, Tadka, Vali, Khar, Doosan etc as achievements because i do not consider those achievements to be impressive. I only want to discuss, analyze and quote the incident's that i consider interesting and impressive.
I respect "Ram" for being a tough warrior and fighter, not for his character, personality, soul, views, opinions, or being a avatar of Vishnu.
=====================
BEGIN
1st (victory over Parshuram).
Ramayan quotes.
[Start]
"Rama of Jamadagni is calloused as his vitality is subdued by the radiance of that lotus-petal eyed Rama of Dasharatha, and he spoke to Rama of Dasharatha, slowly and softly."
[End]

Request of parshurama AUNTY:
"I triumphed over matchless realms of heavens with my ascesis, oh, Rama, you may hash them up with that irreversible arrow. Let no time's lag be their."
            {end}
Action's of Ram the KshAtriya:
"While Rama of Jamadagni is speaking that way, that venturesome and blessed Rama of Dasharatha shot off that nonpareil arrow from that longbow of Vishnu. On seeing all of his realms of heavens are shot-blasted by Rama of Dasharatha, Rama of Jamadagni vanished in a trice to Mt. Mahendra, the heavenly mountain."

Logic - Kshatriya Ram was able to remove vast portions of land (possibly continents) out of the Earth by firing one arrow.
=========
Mahabharat quotes.

1st quote:
"And shot by the hand of Rama, that shalt, confounding by its energy the other Rama, came back blazing into Rama's hands. And Bhargava, who had thus been deprived of his senses, regaining consciousness and life, bowed unto Rama."
                       [when he loses then parshuram start's bowing down in typical namard style]
Also ram's age might have been 11 or 12 yrs at this time. So him beating parshurama at the time really shows the different level he was at in comparison to that brahmin warrior. It's obvious that Ram improved years later as a adult. He had yet to reach his peak.
=========
Note: to me this was interesting but not impressive as i dont think highly of Parshuram. I included it due to my interest.

It's also worth mentioning that it took 23 days for the same Parshuram to admit his loss to Bhishma in Mahabharat, but also another thing to be noted is that parshuram already lost in the very first day when he was knocked out cold and spared by Ganga's son.
Still it is clear that this Ram who was inexperienced, young and a mere teen was able to outperform Bhishma in comparison to what both achieved against Parshuram.

2nd (slaying abhira's in a region far away from lanka with one arrow).
This happened when he confronted Saagara (ocean-god).
[His appeal to Ram]
"Towards my northern side, there is a holy place. It is well known as Drumatulya, in the same way as you are well known to this world. Numerous robbers of fearful aspect and deeds, having the sinful Abhiras as their chief, drink my waters there. I am not able to bear that touch of those wicked people, the evil doers, O, Rama! Let this excellent arrow with out vain be released over them there."
[enD]
Action's of Ram.
[quote]
"Hearing those words of the high-soled Ocean, Rama released that excellent and splendid arrow towards that place as directed by the ocean. The place where the arrow, whose splendor was akin to that of a thunder and a thunder bolt, was descended by Rama that place is indeed famous as desert of Maru on this earth. The earth there, pierced by the dart, then emitted a sound. The waters of the penultimate subterranean region gushed forth from the mouth of that cleft."
"Then the hollow became known as Vrana. Water constantly seen, gushing forth from it resembled seawater. A terrific splitting sound was born in that place. Water was dried up in those cavities, as a result of hurling of that arrow by Rama. That desert of Maru became famous in the three worlds. Rama (the son of Dasaratha), a wise man and a valiant man resembling a celestial, made that cavity dried up and gave a boon to that desert of Maru."

"Due to granting of a boon by Rama, that desert of Maru became the most congenial place for cattle rearing, a place with a little of disease, producing tasty fruits and roots, with a lot of clarified butter, a lot of milk and various kinds of sweet- smelling herbs. Thus it became an auspicious and suitable move, bestowing these merits."
[End]
Conclusion - it's entirely possible that Rama created the desert in Rajasthan because their are theory's that the land in Rajasthana (indian state) used to be fertile with grass's, forests, good soil etc. But some nuclear weapon turned it too a barren desert.

3rd (slaying over 242,000 raksh being's in three hours).
"Within a matter of three hours, with his arrows Rama killed ten thousand chariots possessing the swiftness of the wind, eighteen thousand strong elephants, fourteen thousand horses with their riders and a full two lacs of rakshasa's fighting on foot."

=====
4th (all the occasion's in which he defeated Mareech).
First.
[Quote]
"Rama quickly noticed me on my very entry with an uplifted weapon, and on seeing me he unexcitedly strung bowstring to his bow. He then released an acute arrow that eliminates the enemy, and hit by it I am plunged into the ocean which was a hundred yojana-s off. That Rama did not wish to kill me then, and I am thus saved by that valiant one, oh, dear boy Ravana, but the thrust of Rama's arrow bewildered my animation and I was on my last legs."
"That way I who had been flung into the abyssal water of the ocean by him gained consciousness after a long time and proceeded towards the city of Lanka. At that time, that one with elementary knowledge in the use of weaponry, but who can undertake deeds in an effortless manner, such a boy, such a Rama spared me, albeit killing them that were my helpmates in that escapade."
[End]

Second.
[quote]
"Though Rama hit me previously in such a way, I unabashedly entered Dandaka forest together with two more demons who were in the guise of animals. On becoming a gigantic carnivorous animal with a torching tongue, incisive teeth and excruciating horns, and with an extraordinary energy, I was on the rove in Dandaka forest while getting at Rama."
"Stringing out his highly magnificent bow Rama then released three excruciating and enemy eliminating arrows which in their egress match the Air-god and the Divine-Eagle Garuda. All those three thunderbolt like arrows that have only blood for their board, acutely bent at barbs, and that are highly horrendous have come at us in a coordinated manner."
"As I have earlier seen the fear caused by his arrow I am in the know of Rama's valour, hence I retreated from there trickily and gingerly, but the other two demons were killed. When I was somehow exempted by the arrow of Rama I regained lifespan, and when that arrow made me to renounce everything like a monk and fled me to this place, the other side of ocean to where you came by your aircraft, here I am living here in a yogic way, self-collectedly like an ascetic."
[end]

Third.
[quote]
"On very profoundly impaling the body of deer's form that superb arrow which is similar to a thunderbolt has severed the heart of Maareecha in the core of deer's body."
[end]
                                {What Ram actually looked like in real life, a dark skinned mard/human.}
=
5th (when he murdered the copies of himself that came out of Ravan's illusion).
[their description]
"The king of the Rakshasas then once more put forth his prowess of illusion. The Ten-faced, producing from his body numerous warriors resembling, O Bharata, both Rama and Lakshmana, rushed towards the two brothers. And then those Rakshasas, hostile to Rama and Lakshmana and armed with bows and arrows, rushed towards Rama, and beholding that power of illusion put forth by the king of Rakshasas, that descendant of Ikshwaku's race, the son of Sumitra, addressed Rama"
[their mrityu]
"And Rama, thereupon slew those and other Rakshasas of forms resembling his own."
Note: this incident only happens in Ramopakhyana not Ramayan.
===
6th and final achievement in combat i will mention.
[Quote]
"Rama performed ten Horse-sacrifices of great splendour and to them the freest access was given to all. Possessed of youth, of a dark complexion, with red eyes, he looked like the leader of an elephantine herd. With aims stretching down to his knees and of handsome face, his shoulders were like those of a lion and the might of his arms great."
[End]
Rams Ashvamedha sacrifices are mentioned in Mahabharata. He did at very least 10 of these campaign's in the time he was ruling his abode.
=====
Honorable mention's.
Defeating a group attack of FOUR warrior's.
[Quote]
"Agniketu, Rashmiketu, Mitrughna and Yajnakopa wounded Rama by arrows."
"The enraged Rama on his part chopped the hands of those four demons in the battle by his four terrific arrows having fire-like points."
[End]
Beating 6 officer's of the lankan army all together at once:
[Quote]
"The unconquerable Yagnashatru, Mahaparashva, Mahodara, the giant bodied Vajradamshtra, both Shuka and Sarana, all those six having been beaten by Rama on their vital organs with a flood of his arrows, retreated from the battle and somehow survived."
[End]
==
(BONUS) What his name meant.
    It's definition & overall meaning was only given once in any epic literature.
Akampana's opinion;
"Rama means someone who is highly resplendent, an ablest archer among all archers, one who is endowed with divine missiles and divine attributes, and he is the one who conducts warfare with a supreme conduct."
[good photo]
===========
Aftermath my own view on him;
I am not anti ram, i consider ram a great warrior and that is the only quality of his that i admire and aspire to replicate.
I do not consider ram to be a avatar, i do not believe he was a god, because in my opinion a god should not be able to die.
And it was mentioned that a devta can not kill ravan only a human can do it... so Ram has to be a human right?

Why did i give gaalis about him in the past?
Because i know that no matter how much respect i give Ram the fact that i dare to expose hanumana, laxman etc makes me a target of his bhakt's.
Another reason is that whenever some one insults me, calls me a ravan tard when im not a big fan of ravan at all. Or starts making jokes about Meghanad & disrespecting other warriors than i feel the need to use abusive language against anyone.
That is why i have insulted Ram in a few of my comment's.

1 comment:

  1. Regardless of his achievement's their remained only one flaw he had, and that was his inability to fight invisible warriors.
