Why Starplus mahabharat sucks (part 5).

Intro - this discussion post will analyze Episode 41 to 47. My original goal was to at least get till episode 59 or 60, unfortunately i failed.

I did at least end up reaching episode 47 during the date of July 11th, 2023. But multiple other events got in the way of my schedule. So i had to leave the 47th episode, i stopped watching it in the middle, then 9 days later i had to rewatch it in order to make sure my conclusions were accurate.

Episode 41;
I only liked one thing when Bheem increased the confidence of Kunti he said that he was stronger than Hanuman during the 15th minute of this episode.
But a mistake in this episode is the lack of any facial hair on king Dhritrashtra, think about this. His son Duryodhan is younger than him yet he has more facial hair as a adolescent/teenager.

I do not understand why this hasn't been fixed.

Episode 42.
The actors that play teenage Duhsasan & Duryodhan do not look anything like their adult counterpart's (Arpit Ranka & Nirbhay Wadhwa). As a matter of fact they look more like Ankit Mohan (adult ashwathama) so star plus messed up yet again. Again a food joke is attempted involving Bheem this time when he get's involved in the bird eye test.

And though it may seem quick to complete this episode's flaws now the truth is that i enjoyed most of the guru-kula track (portion of episodes) as starplus did not deviate much from the original book & it expanded on detail's giving life to what happened in the months (or however long the kuru prince's spent studying with guru Drona) making it interesting and not ruining it.

Teenage Ashwathama's height was a problem, cause after many years his face changes but if you compare his height to his father (actor that play's drona's character) then it seems like his height did not change at all, yet his face changes.
Starplus was definitely not logical or authentic and realistic.

Episode 43.
Making Ashwathama try to kill Arjuna during their childhood when they were boys is just too much for my taste. Teenage hood & childhood is akin neither of them have matured yet. But making Ashwathama such a negative character before the kurukshetra war is a big sin committed by this disgusting tv serial. It would have been better if they made a younger lesser known brother of Duryodhan try to kill Arjun.

Maybe Dushkarna, or Purumitra, or maybe Durmukha. Though to give one piece of credit, their is a good thing about that scene and that is that Eklavya had a 2nd achievement, which is him cutting the arrow of Ashwathama.
So they at least did something different with that character. Again they made a character do a bad deed when they made Duhsasana throw one of the twin's (either Nakul or Sahadev).

The truth is the kourav brothers never physically attacked any pandava (barring Bheem) before the swayamvara of droupadi. It also makes no sense for teen Duryodhan to be able to hold his own against teen Bheem (in a fightas bheem drank the rasa khunda, so he is too tough for them to fight now until they reach adulthood.
Lastly i expected Drona to give his 2 student's a bigger penalty for fighting eachother, so yet another problem in this show.

Episode 44.
Eklavya said his father lived in the forests of Magadha but the fact is that Mahabharat was silent on where the residence of Hiranyadhanus was located, the nishadas lived in forest's but their are forests outside of Magadh.

When Krishna recounts the history of Jarasandha (during "sabha parva"he mentioned many allies of Jarasandha but he never mentioned the nishadas. The way this tv series has been going on is extremely pathetic.

They also made Ashwathama come with Duhsasan/Suyodhana to form a plan telling Eklavya they would convince Drona to accept him as a student, give him training & then Eklavya could return to Magadh after that.

But a reason for this being bad is that Ashwathama was literally introduced in episode 42.. like they already made him a member of the Adharmic tree in just three episodes. The writer's did not give his character a chance.

Lastly Drona said he'd accept Eklavya to be his student/disciple if eklavya cuts his thumb, but the problem is that their was supposed to be a guarantee that Drona would then go onto educate Eklavya in military science/art-of-archery but he still never accepted him as a pupil, eklavya was not allowed to train in the gurukool.

EPISODE 45.
In the 10 minute fifty second mark Drona says that even Bhishma will not be a better archer than Arjuna but the problem is this tv serial was biased in bhishma's favor so they never showed him losing a fair fight unlike the book (Mahabharat) and the most authentic serial (BR Chopra's).

Also Duryodhan as a teenager threatening to abandon/leave the gurukul made no sense as he knows his father dhritrashtra punished him in this tv series to stay away from hastinapore, devoid of luxury/comfort so he could prove his competence by learning thing's from Drona.

According to this stupid starplus series the only other option Dhritrashtra had was to sentence duryodhan to death. So if duryodhan know's this then why would he even think about abandoning the gurukul?

Episode 46;
They showed Karna's first guru being a random tribal.
{Image}
They even made Karna be dumb enough to inform Drona that he is going to seek Parshuram out as a guru.

The reason this's stupid/dumb is because then Drona would be alert and now has the ability to send a message to Parshurama informing him to turn karna's proposal down (basically reject him as a student). Karna should not have been that unintelligent.

I almost forgot that in the episode where karna tries to ACCOMPANY the students of Drona in the war against Droopad then Drona said "i do not know where karna got his VIDYA from.." This is a issue BECAUSE karna literally said that he gained this vidya from Parshuram. The root of the issue stemmed from episode 46.

Also since in this TV SERIAL Drona told Eklavya that he accepted him as a true student it made no sense that Karna would not be accepted. As Drona never tell's Eklavya that he only teaches brahmin's/kshatriyas.

They also forgot that Drona learned from 3 other people besides the overrated Parshurama. Those men are "Agnivesa" "Bharadwaj" & "Angiras" but none are shown in TV serials, because they only like to overrate coward's.

In the twelve minute mark point of the video Sri Krishna (overrated wannabee white "Saurabh Raj Jain") talked to the audience again. He claimed someone can be superior for a certain period of time but not forever.

Now my problem or the thing that should be a problem for everyone who watched it is that Krishna was always superior to everyone forever at least as long as he lived, and in this tv serial Bhishma was superior to everyone barring Krishna. So the words of saurabh raj jain proved to be false again.
=
Thanks to Guru Drona asking a question to Karna (to prove whether his birth is divine or not) their's yet another mistake in this tv serial. As karna having the kavach kundal is sufficient proof of his divine birth so it made no logic for Drona of all individual's to ask a question like that.

Final issue is that Parshuram upon meeting Karna said "i donated or gave up all my weapon's" yet he was holding an axe in his hand along with a bow.
So it is a word of choice/dialogue that made no sense at all. Again the writers fugged up, by refusing to show Kripa or drona teaching karna any art of weaponry.

47th Episode.
The team of writer's ruined their own tv show again, they shot themselves in the foot here.

Mistake A - When Parshuram cursed Karna then the writing team tried their best for making it seem like Parshuram is not a discriminator. His character (played by Punit Issar) claims "bhagvan parshuram is not casteist! i only made a fast of educating brahmins " yet ignored how bhishma (a kshatriya) in this very same tv serial was educated by him, he claims he would send Karna to a worthy guru, yet claims to not be casteist.
Indirectly he was admitting that he would turn karna down so karna would have to learn from a different person that is not as knowledgeable or intelligent as Parshurama. Also according to the real book of Mahabharat this Parshuram character was indeed a biased man, he killed many innocent babies who did not harm any human beings at all.

Mistake B - Their was no real point of introducing Ashwathama so early on, especially when after the droopad war arc is over the only time this character (Ashwathama) has relevance was in virat parva and the kurukshetra war, however as we know in both story arcs Ashwathama was not done justice in this tv serial either as he is absent from virat yudh and the war of kurukshetra get's badly handled by the writing team.
Mistake C - In the 11 minute mark they never explained who the representative monarch of Gandhar would be during Sakuni's absence cause Sakuni admits he is now in hastinapore's border away from his humble abode (gandara desh). So the writers could've been better off if they kept mahabharat's essence alive by retaining the presence of gandhar's royal family.
Like sakuni's father Suvala being alive or his uncle/brother (Nagnajit) or his younger brothers existing. That way this would not require an explanation. But now the problem exists cause of mistakes made by starplus earlier and when they have a opportunity to decrease the magnitude of that mistake the writer's refuse to adress it.

AND SAKUNI... (Praneet Bhat) doesn't even look like a Kshatriya or a king. He needs a crown also better make up.
===
Mistake D: Sakuni told Ashwathama that he should fear Arjun, but now it makes no sense to me (a member of the audience) on why he should be scared. As it's well known that drona & arjuna have a special place in eachothers heart, so arjuna would not harm Ashwathama even in this TV Serial. Despite harboring negative feelings for him (since this ashwathama of the tv serial is evil) he still would not attack him due to the respect arjun (SHAHEER Sheikh) had toward relationship's.

Mistake E - Sakuni made new dice now right after using a knife to carve a bone. To me this's a unnecessary addition to this tv series. And it would've made more sense if he did this in a previous episode, like after bhishma broke his dice, or if they could show the cremation of sakuni's father suvala then they could have shown Sakuni asking a medical specialist to take one bone out of his dad's corpse before they burn it.

Mistake F - for Dhritrashtra to be able to recognize Sakuni's foot taps after more than a whole decade is not logical, it's stupid.
Mistake G; the aging process happening for Bhishma/Kripa is too late because they have been portrayed as young men for too long (despite being at least 40 years above dhritrashtra in age). These two men should've aged and had greyish/white facial hair/beard's alot sooner.
                                                                    This's dumb.
For bhishma's actor it seems he barely aged anyways, and Kripa was supposed to have at least 2 strands of white hair but now its all gone & hes mostly gray now (only in the front but not back) instead of having any white hair.
Also Karna's entry here was bad, as he had no mustache, the man is supposed to be at least 4 years older than Yudhisthir. He's supposed to look like a indian male not a greek male. It seems like the makers of Star Bharat watched the movie "Troy" (2004) & were inspired by the looks of Eric Bana instead as he played the role of prince Hector..
So they choose a look alike to be Karna.
So basically...starplus proved that Indians need to always copy from European's, Americans or Japanese (anime/cartoon) sometimes even pakistanis (since many bollywood actors have their deep root's in Pakistan). Why do that when you could get someone that actually looks indian to play Karna?

Aham Sharma's euro face would not be much of a problem if his skin was abit darker and he had a mustache then my complaint would not be as high.
