The writing team & script-writer's made it so that even though Karna is duryodhan's friend he never actually support's him or defends his decisions/action's.
3A - He opposed him during the childhood episode's-arc of SPK where Duryodhan poisons Bheem. As a matter of irony Karna even helped the pandava's here instead of the kourava's.
3B - during a episode where Duryodhan introduced Poundrak to Karna (Gautam-Rode) then Karna instantly opposed him & even began committing acts of physical abuse to Poundrak.
3C - And in the dice game Karna takes the side of the pandava's, he tried his best in order to support them instead of duryodhan.

4TH Reason.
As per SPK Duryodhan's best friend was not Karna. At episode 168 Sri Krishna said "Keechak" is the best friend of Duryodhan. The same thing was mentioned by Duryodhan himself, he called KEECHAK his best friend instead of Karna (the word is "Param Mitrah") episode number is 169.
Bonus - He also called himself "duryodhan ka daas" in all episodes after the dice-game before the marriage of Krishna's beta Samva with kumari Laxmanah (daughter of duryodhan).
So in these crucial time period's (over thirteen years passed, that's the most amount of time for this tv series until after the kurukshetra war) Karna was just living like a slave, his relation with duryodhan was master/slave not friend's or brothers.

Reason 5.
They even made karna a SIMP (as he defend's droupadi from Sisupala).
During the segment in matsya desh where the pandava's spend their year of incognito then Karna said "no woman should ever need to wash a mans feet" despite knowing that a servant woman's task includes taking care of a aristocrat's personal hygiene.
Also they made Karna refuse to fight Dewi Shri Kandhi (the incarnate of Amva) during the episodes of the DIGVIJAYA-YATRa, he also told Duryodhan to not hit her either as she is a woman.
So for all karna fans that support acid-attack's or are anti-feminazi/feminists this version of Karna (TV Serial/Gautam Rode) is a bad version for the character they idolize/defend constantly.

6TH REASON
Karna even betrayed his vow as a daan veer by refusing to protect Sisupal from Krishna in episode 131 (where sisupal died).
Logic - so according to this tv serial karna did say "no" to someone, he was not a daan veer.
And he also did not help his friend the mighty Jarasandh Jee during the war where he fought Krishna. So karna never fullfilled any promise he made or returned the favors of his friend's.
During the 158th episode Karna asked Balaram to donate & give to him instead. He asks "please train yuvraaj duryodhan to become the greatest mace warrior/gada-dhar in this world" balaram even gives hospitality to Karna who becomes a guest in dwaraka. But Karna failed to ever donate a thing back to Balaram so Karna is indebted to Lord Balaram (he's not a lord for me, but in this TV serial he looks kind of cool so i will call him "lord" intentionally).
Lastly the incident with Poundrak did not make much sense (it happened in episode 201 but came to an end in episode 202). Cause knowing karna to be a daan-veer Poundrak should have asked him for a donation to consider Poundrak himself as a GOD instead of Shri Krishna. If Karna was a daani he would have accepted this maang (hindi word for desire/wish/want).

Reason 7:
They made other warrior's look more powerful than Karna.

Bhima literally one-shotted Karna on the 16th day killing his driver Satyasen too along with exploding the divine chariot of Parashuram.

Bhima even broke out of chains from karna's astra.
Logically - Bheem did better against Karna than he did against Drona so the old brahmin is a tougher warrior.

Guru Drona in episode 261 was able to do this to Abhimanyu despite not looking in his direction & being a far distance away.

But Karna during the 12th day was in close proximity of Abhimanyu, he still could not injure him, on the contrary his arrow had been caught.

They also showed a duel that occurred between Bheem & Karna during the marriage of Uttara, this happened at a time Karna was equipped with his surya-kavach and possessed no knowledge of his blood relationship with Kunti, so their was nothing to demotivate or weaken him.

8th reason:
Despite having karna's name in it, the tv serial did not show much about karna's life at all, we see arjuna in fact much more in this show than we ever saw Karna.
The character of barbareekh (Ghatotkaca's son) never met Karna in the tv series yet four episode's were dedicated to him. That bhagavad gita story is narrated in this tv show too. Karna is absent during its episodes.
More importantly this tv serial continued for X episodes after karna's death, he dies in episode 285 the show ends at episode 307 thats a 22 episode difference.

9th reason:
Panchal Raj Droopad got his dues and respect here.
He defeated Ashwathama thrice in the fifteenth day.
He broke the chakra vyooh on the thirteenth day.
Duryodhan (as-of-that-point) was equal to Bheem.
King droopad defeats duryodhan in a mace fight here.

So drupada was the best mace fighter of KARNA-BHARATH.
BONUS; One spear throw of Droopad did this.
When he threw that spear even Karna's CHARIOT moved backwards. While Balaram's plough could only do this.
Droopad was from a far away distance (in his raaj-bhavan) the kourava's and Karna were in a battle ground/field far away from him. Balaram was just a couple meters distance from Karna/kourava's yet still he could not do much compared to shri Droopad.
Logic - this makes Maharaj Drupada stronger than Bhagwan Balaram.....

10TH Reason.
Arjuna fight's better than Karna does against other warrior's.
Arjuna did better against king Drupada than Karna did (in this serial);

Karna with kavach kundala was only able to cut his arrows but never managed to wound him.
Arjun on the other hand was a younger inexperienced prince with no special protection/armour.
Droopad was also able to hold his own against Karna when the surya putra had the armor and ear-ring's equipped onto his belly. Yes Karna did defeat droopad here but was unable to wound him unlike arjuna who was more successful according to this tv serial.
The battle of digvijaya (where Karna invaded Panchal) occurs in episodes 154, 155 and 156 of this tv serial.
