Why could not Karna then be of any avail to them. Defeating chekitana was no great feat. Duryodhana defeated all the Pandavas but he never defeated Arjuna. Arjuna was the only one who remained undefeated. Duryodhana defeated Bhima many times but just know this. The character that is the closest to karna in the amount of military defeats that they have is Bhima. The warriors that always lose encounters and have the most amount of defeats are Karna, Bhima and Duryodhana. They have lost the most number of times. Even Kritavarman defeated Bhima. Even foot soldiers defeated Karna. So victories over them don't mean anything.
this is one of the few post's i will have to disagree with, it was likely made out of ignorance, drona is superior to bhishma and karna this post has inaccuracies

Even Duryodhana was a great warrior who defeated the Pandavas together on one of the days, and also killed Chekitana the lord of an akshauhini.
